Artist Operations Coordinator

Mona Foma (Mofo), Mona’s legendary music and arts festivals, is relocating to Launceston. To make this happen we need an Artist Operations Coordinator to take responsibility for a range of operational matters including artist logistics, ground transport schedules, artist liaison and hospitality, schedules, itineraries and other production matters. You won't be alone in this role as you lead a team of artist liaisons to build relationships with artists and key stakeholders. 

The Gig:

Program Administration

  • Coordinate the office set-up in Launceston, ensuring everything is in place for when the larger team arrives
  • Work with the Associate Producer to recruit a team of Artist Liaisons
  • Prepare and manage the ground transport/artist liaison schedule within the festival budget
  • Coordinate artist liaison services and assist with artist hospitality as required
  • Develop and coordinate a relationship with the Launceston Airport to facilitate artists' arrivals and departures
  • Work with and support the producing team to manage on the ground artist logistics, including scheduling
  • Assist with merchandise preparation
  • Coordinate sponsorship contra for artist bags/ gifts and oversee the packing and distribution
  • In consultation with the Associate Producer, manage artist liaison petty cash including final reconciliation
  • Curate a young persons’ professional development/intern program focussing on festival management

Artist Liaison

  • Be responsible for the welfare of festival artists/groups and key stakeholders, such as directors, funding/government officials etc
  • Drive artists/groups and stakeholdes in festival vehicles as required
  • Communicate with producers/production staff regarding artists' issues and troubleshoot where necessary

The You:

  • Experience working in a similar role in a high-pressure environment and in a role that involved a high amount of scheduling
  • Prior experience in a leadership role and comfortable with providing direction and supervision to a team of Artist Liaisons
  • Competency in using Microsoft Excel and experience in using databases, ideally with Filemaker Pro 
  • Highly organised, coupled with strong administrative skills 
  • A calm and positive personality to enable professional interactions with festival stakeholders, artists and staff
  • Available to start in mid November
