Management Accountant - DarkLab
Permanent Part-time (0.6 FTE) - with potential for Full-time role

DarkLab is a creative agency within the Mona group. We spend a lot of time working on Dark Mofo as well as running some of Hobart’s most exciting live music venues including The Odeon, Altar and In The Hanging Garden. The DarkLab team is continuously evolving and operates in a dynamic, innovative and transformative manner.  

With this in mind, we are in need of a technically brilliant Management Accountant to help us translate our creativity into respectable and reliable financials. The successful candidate will use their expertise to work with our operations management team to help drive performance, work to budgets and create efficiencies that will enable us to be sustainable into the foreseeable future. 

THE GIG:

  • Supporting strategic decisions with the production of accurate and timely financials
  • Providing financial analysis and forecasting, clearly communicating findings to senior stakeholders
  • Being responsible for the preparation and execution of monthly management accounts
  • Completing tax-related activity statements and other compliance reporting
  • Preparing and maintaining annual budget frameworks
  • Gathering and producing requested information efficiently from multiple systems
  • Working to optimise efficiencies, systems, and technology to enable successful business decisions and outcomes

THE YOU:

  • Proven senior experience in a similar role, with festival and/or hospitality experience is highly regarded
  • CPA / CA qualified
  • Proactive and autonomous
  • Positive and flexible work ethic
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to effectively liaise with diverse personalities and stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and solid analytical skills
  • Adaptable and confident to commence tasks quickly, while working in a diverse and fluid work environment

This position is currently pitched at 3 days per week, however, we are open to the option of flexibility for the right candidate. 
Our office is located in Hobart and your spread of work will see you working between our office and the Group Finance office (nearby).
