Photography/Videography Assistant
Full-time, Fixed term 6 months (potential for extension or ongoing role for the right candidate)

We are seeking a skilled Photography/Videography Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with our Senior Photographer/Videographer to produce diverse content across all Mona brands, including the museum, Mona Shop, Moo Brew, Moorilla, Domaine A, Events, Frying Pan, Eat + Drink Mona, and KK projects such as 24 Carrot Gardens. This nipaluna / Hobart-based position requires both autonomous work and assistance to other team members.

  • Senior Photographer/Videographer and Content Production Assistant
  • Head of Creative and Creative team (Art Directors, Writers, Designers)
  • Social Media Manager and Coordinator
  • Director of Marketing and Communications, Senior Marketing Manager(s)
  • Head of Digital and Digital team
  • Director of Museum, Curatorial team, and Head of Museum Operations

The Gig:

  • Produce diverse content including e-commerce imagery, campaign photoshoots, collections and archival photography, and event coverage
  • Create and edit video content
  • Manage product photography for Mona brands, including styling, editing, and delivery
  • Document artworks for museum collection and library records
  • Assist with art department and production tasks
  • Perform post-production work including retouching, resizing, and color management for print, web, and art reproduction
  • Maintain digital asset management across platforms
  • Upkeep studio equipment and assist in creating content for Mona publications
  • Work 5 days per week, with increased hours during festivals and events periods

The You:

  • Minimum two years' experience as a photographer/videographer or assistant
  • Strong skills in various photography and videography techniques, both in studio and on location
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, After Effects)
  • Experience with REDD cinema cameras and medium-format photography
  • Knowledge of animation/motion graphics (beneficial)
  • Capable of independent work, meeting deadlines, and collaborating effectively
  • Experienced in event photography, art reproduction, and portrait photography
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating relevant skills, including product/e-commerce photography
  • Tertiary education in photography, visual arts, or related field
  • Flexible availability for weekend and evening work
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle
  • Comfortable collaborating across disciplines to create high quality work
