The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of Mona’s facilities and assets, ensuring that property and assets are well-maintained, safe, and operate efficiently. This role involves leading a team of maintenance staff to address day-to-day maintenance needs, preventative maintenance schedules, and emergency repairs to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
The Maintenance Supervisor will have direct supervision responsibilities for the maintenance employees, and will liaise regularly with management, team members from other departments, and external contractors in the coordination of works and services.
The Gig:
- Lead, train, and manage the maintenance team. Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Oversee the maintenance and ensure that all equipment and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) are functioning properly.
- Ensure preventative maintenance programs and tasks are achieved to minimise downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment, including regularly inspecting facilities and assets to identify maintenance and repair needs.
- Manage the inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment. Ensure that the maintenance team has the necessary resources to perform their duties.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and repairs. Generate reports for management on maintenance performance and costs.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
- Oversee and inspect work performed by contractors and maintenance team to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure maintenance activities align with operational needs and respond promptly to maintenance requests to ensure timely resolution of issues to maintain guest satisfaction and comfort.
- Assist in preparing and managing the maintenance budget. Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Apply specific technical skills as required to support expediting issues quickly to minimise downtime.
The You:
- You'll ideally bring considerable experience acquired through a number of years working in a similar role, coupled with relevant qualifications in a trade or a related field.
- Prior experience managing a maintenance team and contractors in the delivery of works and services in a facilities management or construction context.
- Highly developed communication skills, capable of communicating and negotiating across clusters with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Highly motivated and capable of working in a dynamic environment that requires ongoing adjustment of priorities.
- Willing to work a rotating on-call roster.
- You'll hold a trade qualification in Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, or Carpentry (mandatory)
- You'll hold a manual vehicle drivers licence
- You'll hold a Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry (CPCCWHS1001) White Card and ideally a Working at Heights Training too.
